Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

At HI-ACT, we are committed to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). We strive to cultivate a professional environment that is inclusive, respectful and reflective of these core values. We endeavour to promote a culture in which all members of our community, including staff, researchers, PhD students, partners, and stakeholders, are treated with dignity and respect.

 

EDI is embedded in our culture, informing our governance, policies, practices, and strategic priorities. Through this commitment, we aim to cultivate a research hub that not only reflects the diversity of society but also actively promotes fairness, dignity, and equal opportunity for all members of our community.

Our EDI working group

Our EDI plan has been developed by our EDI working group, led by HI-ACT’s EDI champion Professor Meysam Qadrdan. Before our full EDI strategy and plan was published, we sought reviews from both our internal EDI working team, as well as external reviews from EDI experts.

Our EDI Action Plan

The HI-ACT EDI working group is committed to developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to evaluating our progress. This evaluation informs the ongoing development and refinement of our future activity, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability in our approach to EDI.
