Thursday 17th September, University of Warwick

The UK has set ambitious hydrogen targets – but are our infrastructure, supply chains and regions ready to deliver them?
Join us for a strategic workshop on Thursday, 17 September 2026 at the University of Warwick, in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, as part of the Hydrogen Research Hub (HI-ACT).
Your insight is critical. The workshop will bring regional evidence and industry realities directly into our research, helping bridge the gap between national energy expectations (SSEP) and regional feasibility (tRESP). Your contribution will help us develop evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and inform future hydrogen infrastructure, supply-chain and investment decisions.
The day will include:
- Keynote talks from leading organisations across policy, energy and industry, including Ofgem, NESO, DESNZ and industry partners.
- Expert panels on hydrogen, energy security and regional planning.
- Interactive workshops to identify priorities, opportunities, risks and barriers.
- Latest research insights on hydrogen infrastructure and supply-chain readiness.
- Networking with stakeholders from NESO, Ofgem, DESNZ, industry, network operators, local authorities and academia.
Why join us?
- Have your voice heard: Help ensure future hydrogen and energy planning reflects the practical needs and realities of organisations like yours.
- Influence the evidence: Contribute to and validate research that will inform regional and national policy and planning.
- Anticipate what comes next: Gain insight into emerging hydrogen priorities, infrastructure requirements and potential supply-chain opportunities.
- Build valuable connections: Engage directly with policymakers, energy organisations, industry leaders and regional stakeholders.
Your participation will help ensure that the transition from national ambition to regional delivery is both realistic and achievable.
